My boyfriend doesn't speak to me any more. We used to spend hours talking to each other, snuggled up by the fire, until the sun came up the very next morning. Now: silence.

We used to do so much together, but now he doesn't move from the chair in the corner of the front room. His eyes always follow me wherever I go, but no words are exchanged. Silence.

I bring him a freshly brewed cup of his favourite hot cocoa everyday before I leave for work, but the cup is still full when I come back home. I don't know what I have done wrong - he has been like this since my birthday. It makes me sad... silence.

The idiot now won't even help earn his keep - he hasn't been to work for over a year, so I'm the one having to earn for our right to live. I love him all the same - I always give him a soft kiss on his forehead before I leave. Silence.

He asked me to marry him the year before last. I guess that I was overjoyed at the idea of having someone at my side forever, someone I was not going to let go... He would never leave me, he knew better - he knew that I'd CUT him. Silence.

I remember when he didn't smile that often, so I drew him a smile on his face - one that would last forever. He smiles everyday now, happy to see me. Silence.

On my birthday, I caught him trying to escape through the boarded up back window. After having clawed away at the wood so much, his fingers were all twisted and bloody so that they were no longer recognisable as fingers. He heard my drawing footsteps and began to scream out for some form of salvation. I drew my bloody calving knife, and cut out his tongue. Silence.

I thought that he wanted to stay with me forever, so I was shocked when he began to fight back. Didn't he know that I was only doing this out of love? I sank my knife into his chest, twisted it counter-clockwise and watched him slump down to the floor, watching me. Silence.

After wiping the blade on his sleeve, I slung his arms around me, and carried him to his chair. I remembered that he must be tired from his long day without me, so I sat him down and went to make him a fresh hot cocoa - his favourite. He watched me, with a smile on his face. Silence.

We were going to be together forever. He can't leave me now... silence.
Hello everyone, it's Aurora here!
I wanted to upload this today - I know that it is a little bit morbid, but I think that it's an alright short story. I'm terrible at short stories, so any mistakes or ideas that you have got, or even any advice, I would love to hear from you to help me improve. :D
